Marijn Sax on health apps at NPO Radio 1

A fitness, meditation or mindfulness app: a lot of people nowadays have one or more health apps on their phone. But how reliable are these health apps? Do they really help us, or do they deliberately manipulate us for commercial purposes?

Philosopher Marijn Sax of the University of Amsterdam was a guest speaker at Focus (NPO Radio 1) on Thursday April 29. He recently promoted cum laude and wrote his PhD thesis about health apps ‘Between empowerment and manipulation – the ethics and regulation of for-profit health apps’.
